Are You Worried About Battery Life, Try These 8 Easy Ways

Today, most smartphones come with large, high-resolution displays, powerful processors, and large amounts of memory. Their goal is to perform multitasking and even complex tasks with ease. However, this also means that in such a situation, the phone battery will not last the whole day and for this reason, power banks have become a necessity.

The same can be said about laptops. As the battery ages, the need to use the power plug more often will also increase. Most of the electronic devices we use are equipped with lithium-ion and lithium-poly batteries. They come with fast charging functionality but do not require a battery for long life. Considering the age of the battery, it is better to replace the battery than to upgrade the laptop.

Whether you use a smartphone, tablet or laptop. These tips will help increase the battery life of your device.

1) Monitor the temperature
Using a battery in high temperatures can be even more unpleasant than riding it on a bike. Battery University High temperature and age are said to gradually reduce battery performance. Using the device in lower temperatures (above 30 degrees Celsius is considered extreme) will improve its life cycle. Testing has shown that when using the battery for three months at a temperature of 60 degrees, performance reaches 60 percent, and at a temperature of 40 degrees – 65 percent. Try to protect your device from heat, for example, don’t make the mistake of leaving your mobile on the dashboard of your car in scorching heat.

laptop cooling pad

It is quite reasonable to worry about the overheating problem of your smartphone as battery life becomes very poor over time. Keep in mind that you are using a cooling pad in your laptop so that hot air can easily escape from the CPU vent. Due to dust, the vent of the laptop often starts to get clogged, due to which the fans built into it have to work harder, gradually this also increases your costs. So keep it clean, especially remove dust.

2) Avoid free apps, start buying apps
Apps with ads can reduce your device’s battery life by an average of 2.5 to 2.1 hours. It is alleged that some American researchers It was done. According to research, a phone’s processor is like its brain. Advertising also engages some parts of this brain, causing it to slow down.

This doesn’t mean that all free apps affect your battery, but if you see any ads on it, know that it will affect your bandwidth and processor. You will get many benefits by paying for the apps. This is despite the fact that today many apps are available for as little as Rs 10.

To edit text on a laptop, it would be better to use the applications available in the system. This will consume much less battery power than using a browser. If you don’t use the Internet, turn off your Wi-Fi connection. On a Windows PC, you just need to press “Fn+F2” on your keyboard. By the way, this command also depends on the device manufacturer. In such a situation, you can also use the Wi-Fi icon built into the device.

3) Disable location tracking
A recent report claims that the Facebook app drains the iPhone’s battery quickly because it constantly knows the user’s location by repeatedly using the GPS module. In such a situation, disabling location tracking for those applications that do not require your location will definitely help.

Android location mode

On most Android devices, you can turn off location tracking completely by going to Settings, then Location. By the way, the ability to solve this at the application level is currently only available in Android Marshmallow.

In iOS 9, you go to Settings, then Privacy, and then Location Services. After that, you can disable it on a per-app basis. Restrict location access to only those apps that need it.

4) It is better to charge little by little than to charge completely.
Battery University’s excellent proposal can be understood through the example of a marathon. It is better to let the battery discharge to 50 percent than to immediately bring it to zero from 100 percent. Maintain a range of 30 to 80 percent. This will triple the discharge cycle of your battery.

Lenovo uses this principle in its battery maintenance settings. You can also customize it according to your needs. To ensure long battery life, Lenovo recommends setting a charging pattern that starts at 40 percent and ends at 50 percent.

5) Reduce display brightness.
This offer is applicable to laptops and mobile devices. You can easily use brightness settings on most devices, or reduce screen brightness using third-party apps like Lux. In addition to reducing the brightness of the display, it also changes the color tone of the screen. However, on OLED screens you can save energy only through the software level, while in LCD this requires reducing the brightness of the backlight.

display brightness

You can also save battery power by reducing the amount of time your display remains on when your device is inactive. On Android, you can solve this by going to Settings, then Display. On iOS, by going to Settings, General, then Auto-Lock, you can change the setting to your liking.

On Windows laptops, right-click the battery icon, then select Power Options. After that, change the setting to energy saving. Windows will automatically reduce the brightness. In addition, standby mode and other settings will take priority based on battery capacity.

6) Update apps via Wi-Fi or while charging the battery.
In general, any action that puts stress on the processor or bandwidth consumes more processor power. It would be better if this activity was generally stable and used Wi-Fi instead of mobile Internet. In such a situation, the best solution is to schedule your app updates over Wi-Fi only. If your device has this feature, you can schedule it only while charging.

update wifi app

You can access this setting from the Play Store app on Android. Launch the application. Open the menu by swiping from the left side of the screen. After that, go to Settings, then Auto-update apps. After that, select the “Wi-Fi Only” mode. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi + Cellular, then iTunes & App Store. After that, turn off your cellular data usage.

7) Turn on low power mode.
Battery saving mode is not present on all Android phones. If you are using Android 5.0 or later, then this mode will most likely be present on your device. Once your phone’s battery reaches 15 percent, it will automatically become active. It disables background app refreshing, location tracking, and syncing to save battery life. Android Marshmallow comes with a Doze feature. If you don’t use your phone for a long time, this feature puts your phone into deep slow mode. This feature doubles your waiting time. If you are using an older version of Android phone, you will not get this feature.

iPhones with iOS 9 also have a low power mode that turns off background refreshing, visual effects, and automatic booting. You can access this feature by going to Battery Options in Settings.

If you’re using an older Android phone, the manufacturer may have included a low-power mode on your phone. For example, on Sony phones it’s called “Endurance Mode” and on HTC it’s called “Extreme Power Mode”. By the way, you can also use many third-party applications. However, our experience shows that built-in applications are more effective.

8) Use airplane mode.
If your phone is not near a cell tower, this will also affect your wait time. If you are in a place where there is no network, then it is better to activate airplane mode (airplane mode) on your phone. Your phone will repeatedly search for networks in these locations, which will affect battery life.

By following these tips, you will find that your phone’s battery life is better than before. If you have any suggestions to improve battery life, please let us know in the comment box.
