Review of Panasonic Eluga Arc

Despite being the world’s largest electronics company, Panasonic has lagged far behind in entering the smartphone market and has also focused only on its domestic market in Japan. Lately, we have seen that the company has definitely tried to increase its international market share through the Android market. In India, the company has introduced a slew of phones under its popular Eluga model.

This year, Panasonic launched the Eluga Arc phone priced at Rs 12,490. While its specifications are those of an entry-level smartphone, the company has tried to give users something new in terms of security by introducing a fingerprint sensor. This looks good too. let it be you Panasonic Eluga Arc We will explain this in detail in our review.

Appearance and Design
The most important feature of the Eluga Arc is its design, which we liked. The front glass is slightly curved at the edges. This goes a long way in giving the phone a stylish look. The phone does not have a metal body, but its plastic body gives a metallic feel. Simply put, this is a great looking smartphone from every angle.

Its size also works in the phone’s favor. The Eluga Arc screen is 4.7 inches. This makes the phone easy to hold and hold. The power and volume buttons are in the top right corner. A micro-USB port is present at the bottom. The SIM card tray is on the left. Both the IR emitter and the 3.5mm jack are on top.

There is a speaker at the back of the phone. In addition, the back houses a camera, flash and a fingerprint sensor. The phone is always active when it is turned on. As a result, you can unlock your phone directly from standby mode. The fingerprint sensor can store five fingerprints at a time. It’s very easy to use. It was extremely accurate and worked almost every time, but not very quickly. You will find that it takes some time to place your fingers on the fingerprint sensor and unlock the phone.

The Panasonic Eluga Arc screen is an IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. It is not very bright and not very sharp. The color tone is a little strange. If you intend to use your phone for gaming and video, the Eluga Arc is not the best option for you.

Specifications and software
While it’s priced at around Rs 11,000, the Panasonic Eluga Arc’s specs are usually found in even cheaper phones. It uses a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset that is two years old. But it is known for its low battery consumption. It also has 2GB of RAM. The built-in memory is 16 GB (supports microSD cards up to 32 GB) and is equipped with a 1800 mAh battery.

The main SIM slot of this dual SIM phone supports 4G. It has Wi-Fi B/G/N, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and FM radio connectivity features. The phone also comes with a 5W charger. This is by no means a suitable charger.

The phone runs on Android 5.1 with custom interface. You will have access to the standard Lollipop and Fit Home launcher. We liked Lollipop Launcher because we are used to using it. That’s not to say Panasonic’s own Fit Home interface is bad. The company made it very simple. The settings are very basic, which means you won’t have full control over your phone.

Panasonic Eluga Arc uses SwiftKey or Android keyboard. In addition, WPS Office is available for reading and editing the document. There are a lot of useless applications on your phone, the good thing is that you can delete most of them. Only 11 GB of internal memory will be available for use. In such a situation, you will need a microSD card. You should know that the phone is equipped with a hybrid SIM card slot, which means that after increasing the memory, you will not be able to use another SIM card.

camera
Panasonic Eluga Arc is equipped with an 8-megapixel main and 5-megapixel front camera. With both cameras, users will be able to record videos at 1080p resolution. You get flash with the rear camera. We inform you that panorama and slow motion video modes are not provided in the standard phone camera application. You can use it for regular photos and videos. There is a Pro mode that gives you more control over your photos. We’ve tried using third-party camera apps, but the phone app either won’t allow access to the camera or keeps crashing.

The camera takes average quality pictures in daylight. Colors are dull and details are also lacking. The images are grainy and nothing short of satisfactory. The photographs lack detail even with good lighting inside the houses. Photos appear out of focus. At this level, noise and grain become more noticeable.

It’s better if nothing is said about pictures taken in low light. In our opinion, this is the worst result ever in this price range. The same can be said about the video output. The performance of this phone is nowhere near that of other Rs 10,000 smartphones.

performance
The Panasonic Eluga Arc was the biggest disappointment in terms of performance. While we had this phone, it crashed over and over again. This happened even in simple and less complex tasks. We cannot say with certainty that this problem is specific to our review unit.

When the phone doesn’t freeze, it runs very slowly. Unlocking the phone, using the interface, launching apps, and browsing the Internet are all slow. Based on the benchmark test results, we can say that almost all smartphones in this price range were better than this phone from Panasonic.

The connection quality is satisfactory. The sound from the rear speaker is a little weak. The phone supports 4G network and generally remains connected to the 4G network. In our video recording test, the Eluga Arc’s battery lasted 8 hours and 9 minutes. With normal use it barely lasts a whole day.

our decision
The Panasonic Eluga Arc looks good and has good build quality. Its size will attract many users. We can’t say anything more in praise of the phone. Screen, performance, software, battery life and camera, this is an average device in every way. We can’t suggest you buy this phone at this price because there are better options.

The biggest problem is that the phone is unreliable. It crashed repeatedly when performing even small tasks. at a lower price than this xiaomi redmi note 3 ,review), which is a much better device.
