Review of Gionee S6 Pro

Gionee has launched its new smartphone S6 Pro in India. The company has Gioni The S6 was launched in India in February. Since then, the company has been offering various variants of this phone. We recently s6s review This is the selfie-centric version of the S6. The new S6 Pro smartphone is also designed for selfie lovers, but its characteristics are more powerful.

Gioni S6 AND Gioni S6s Very average product. The battery life and build quality are just good. Their price was just over 15,000 rupees. In such a situation, we also did not expect too much. However, the S6 Pro is priced at Rs 23,999. So Gioni 6S Pro direct confrontation with xiaomi I’m 5 ,review, moto z play ,review, htc one a9 AND Asus Zenfon 3 (ZE520KL) From. Does the S6 Pro have enough to justify its price? Let us know.

Gionee S6 Pro, design and build
The design profile of the new model is very similar to the Gionee S6, except for radical changes. The design of the edges attracts attention. According to Gionee, the S6 Pro’s body is made of metal, making it look premium and also durable. The phone is thin and doesn’t feel very heavy. Fit and finish is good for the most part, with the exception of the home button, which has a slightly uneven edge.

The display has sufficient illumination for outdoor use. The resolution is also decent for clear images and text. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS panel with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There are two capacitive buttons, but they are not backlit. You will also get a notification LED along with the front camera on the top of the phone. The hybrid dual-SIM tray is located on the left side, while the power and volume buttons are located on the right side. The headphone jack is on the top and the USB Type-C port is on the bottom. This phone has a mono speaker.

On the back there is a 13-megapixel camera and one LED flash. The fingerprint scanner is built into the Home button. Instead of writing the IMEI number on the metal frame, Gionee used a simple sticker that is irritating to the eye.

The S6 Pro comes with a 10W AC adapter, USB cable, headset, screen protector and silicone case. The quality of the accessories is good and they seem durable. The design is good and the slim profile makes it easy to use with one hand. The phone sometimes slips out of your hands, but we wouldn’t call that bad.

Technical characteristics and capabilities of Gionee S6 Pro
The phone uses the octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 chipset, which is more powerful than the commonly used MT6753 chipset. You will get 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM. The storage can be expanded up to 128 GB using a microSD card.

Other specifications of the Gionee S6 Pro will include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi B/G/N, GPS, FM Radio and USB OTG. Looking at the Pro version, we were expecting Wi-Fi 802.11ac and NFC. But he is not available. This phone supports Voice over LTE along with 4G LTE.

Like the S6S, the S6 Pro will run Gionee Amigo 3.2 UI based on Android Marshmallow. This is not our favorite version. This is a single layer user interface.

You’ll find Edge Bar in the Settings app. This is a vertical list of app shortcuts that can be accessed by swiping left or right on the Home button. You can add 6 shortcuts here. With the split screen feature, you can also reply to incoming messages while watching a video. You don’t even have to turn off the video player to do this.

Since it has Amigo user interface, you will get a lot of pre-installed apps. You will also be able to remove all third parties. But this will not be possible using the Gionee app.

The phone comes with Gionee’s own VR Launcher app, which works with most Google Cardboard VR headsets. We tried it with the OnePlus Loop VR headset. It worked without any problems.

Gionee S6 Pro Performance
Despite the heavy leather, overall performance is good. We never felt any slowdown when switching between apps or playing system animations. The edges of the phone get a little warm when using the camera. Sometimes even the entire phone body heats up. But this problem did not happen again and again. GPU performance was a bit weak. The fingerprint scanner unlocks the device well.

The S6 Pro handles multimedia playback well. Videos with higher bitrates played fine. The sound quality is also quite good. However, the speaker is a little weak and does not produce sound at high volumes. The standard audio and video player separates your media files well. You also get DTS audio enhancement.

The lack of PDAF or laser autofocus on the 13MP main camera means it’s a bit difficult to take sharp, blur-free photos. The time required to focus could be a little shorter. In low light it focuses even more slowly. The lack of detail and color is clearly visible in landscape photos, and we encountered this problem even in daylight. These photos look good when viewed on a phone display, but on a larger screen the imperfections become clearer. We could clearly see the lack of detail in the macro shots. Photos taken in low light turn out worse than average. Very little detail and a lot of noise.

Gionee has made big claims regarding the on-screen flash feature present in the phone for selfies. But the reality is that it simply isn’t capable of lighting up your face, let alone a group selfie. The 8 megapixel front camera is nothing special. The good thing is that the camera interface is easy to use. With this, you get a lot of options. You have Pro, Slow Motion and Panorama shooting modes. Video recording capability is 1080 pixels. Its quality is only average. We think the camera could be better.

The 3,130 mAh battery lasted 10 hours and 13 minutes in the video loop test, which can be considered good. With normal use, we were able to use the phone for more than a day without recharging. You won’t get fast charging, but the charger included with the phone will fully charge the battery in about two hours.

our decision
Expensive mid-range smartphones tend to be good all-around phones. These devices are not made keeping the budget in mind, so in such a situation the company tries to provide excellent performance in one or two departments. Satisfactory performance of other departments also pleases customers. Previous Gionee S6 models had excellent battery life and build quality, but otherwise there was nothing to remember. Unfortunately, nothing has changed in the S6 Pro either.

Apart from the build quality, battery life and display, there is nothing about this phone that would make you choose it over similarly priced smartphones from Lenovo, Xiaomi, Asus or HTC. Cameras are the weak link. The selfie camera with the main camera delivers average performance in all lighting conditions. The phone gets a little warm when using the camera. Gionee did not provide features like Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, backlit capacitive buttons, and fast charging. We cannot offer you to buy this phone.
